McCoy Federal’s ‘Give Christmas Cheer’ outreach uplifts Central Florida Seniors

To help lift the spirits of Central Florida Seniors who were isolated by the pandemic, McCoy Federal Credit Union launched the Senior Assisted Living Outreach “Give Christmas Cheer.”

Company-wide, McCoy team members crafted personal messages in custom Christmas cards and decorated 25 large boxes to fill with holidays gifts for the residents and community rooms.

McCoy collaborated with long-time partner Cornerstone Hospice to coordinate the delivery of hundreds of gifts to seven assisted living Central Florida facilities in four counties: 350 hand-crafted and signed Christmas cards; 49 blankets; 89 pairs of socks; and a myriad of games, puzzles, books, pillows and stuffed toys.

“I just want to personally thank you for the joy you all brought to the residents at Serenity,” said Diana Ballard, a clinical liaison at Orange County Cornerstone Hospice, expressing the reaction shared by the facility’s managers. “They seemed overjoyed! The owner, Marcia Miller, was overwhelmed when I brought all those gifts!”
