The SRP Federal Credit Union Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Eric Jenkins as the organization’s next Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective September 1, 2022. He will succeed current Interim President Woody Shuler. Shuler will serve as Consultant to the Board of Directors which will facilitate a smooth transition for Eric and provide support on specific projects as required. Shuler has plans to retire after passing the baton. SRP Board Chairman Sandra DeVoe Bland states, “The Board is pleased and excited that Mr. Jenkins will be joining the SRP team as CEO. His energy, leadership, and vision, fits well with SRP. The Board feels that Mr. Jenkins is the perfect leader to continue and enhance SRP’s legacy.” Woody Shuler’s leadership of SRP since November 2020 allowed the credit union to remain the strong, dynamic financial institution it is today.
Eric Jenkins was the CEO at Education Credit Union in Amarillo, Texas ($390M in assets). “I am honored to be selected to serve as the CEO of SRP FCU. Very excited to partner with the Board of Directors and the professional staff to create significant value for our member-owners and the community,” states Jenkins. SRP remains committed to serving member/owners and the communities where our member/owners live, work and worship.
Jenkins is a servant leader with considerable experience in the credit union industry. He has worked at large and small credit unions in addition to leadership positions with the Georgia credit union league (GCUA).
Mr. Jenkins holds a BS in Business Economics from the University of South Carolina. He also has certifications from the CUNA Southeastern Region Credit Union Management School (University of Georgia).
