Tuscaloosa, AL – February 4, 2022 – Alabama ONE Credit Union has named Martin Houston Chief Growth Officer and Jacquie Johnson Senior Director of Financial Wellness and Community Outreach. This growth within Alabama ONE’s senior leadership team correlates with the credit union’s continued efforts to expand its services statewide.
Since joining Alabama ONE in 2016, Martin Houston has continued to be an influential source of leadership. This promotion follows his service as the Senior Director of the Growth Team, which encompassed the Alabama ONE Financial Wellness and Outreach, Business and Development, Media and Insurance Teams.
“As Chief Growth Officer, I look forward to helping Alabama ONE reach its fullest potential by helping it grow into an organization that is meeting and exceeding its goal while providing great member service and being a great community partner,” Houston said.
Jacquie Johnson joined Alabama ONE in 2019 as Financial Wellness Manager. In this role, she was responsible for leading all community outreach efforts for the credit union. Under her direction, Alabama ONE has become a pillar for financial wellness to its members and communities of service.
“I am honored to serve as the Senior Director of Financial Wellness and Outreach and grateful for the unwavering support from senior leadership,” Johnson said.
These promotions come on the heels of a year of significant milestones for Alabama ONE. In 2021, Alabama ONE celebrated the opening of its Lake View, Alberta, and Centre Branches. The credit union also completed the purchase and conversion of the First Bank of Linden in Marengo County. This conversion brought on more than 1,800 new members. In addition, Alabama ONE went on to win Tuscaloosa News West Alabama’s 2021 Best of the Best Awards in the following categories: “Best Credit Union,” “Best Place to Work,” “Best Insurance Agent,” “Best Investment Firm,” and “Best Mortgage Lender.”
Alabama ONE Chief Executive Officer Bill Wells said Houston and Johnson have and will continue to play a vital role in establishing the credit union’s presence within its new and pre-existing communities of service.
“Martin and Jacquie have done outstanding work for Alabama ONE,” said Wells. “We are excited to recognize their dedication and hard work to implement the vision that we have for this credit union. Their tireless efforts to improve the communities we serve is seen in their work with various schools, nonprofits, community organizations, and our members in promoting financial wellness through their life journey. Alabama ONE continues to reach new heights because of their leadership and commitment to our members and communities we serve.”
