Tuscaloosa, AL – October 15, 2021 – Alabama ONE Credit Union will open its newest branch in the
Alberta community of Tuscaloosa, located at 2735 University Blvd E., Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35404, on
Monday, October 18, 2021. Alabama ONE now has 17 branches with another new branch opening soon
in Centre, Alabama in mid-November of this year.
This Alberta branch will serve not only the Alberta residents and those who work there but also the
many people that pass through that community throughout the day. Current and new Members will
enjoy a greatly enhanced, modern branch facility which provides access to an ATM, an Interactive Teller
Machine (or ITM), the latest online and mobile banking technology, affordable auto loan and mortgage
products, rewards-driven credit cards, comprehensive insurance offerings, retirement and wealth
advisory solutions and financial wellness resources.
The Alberta branch will also serve as Alabama ONE’s Financial Wellness Resource Center and houses
Alabama ONE’s Financial Wellness and Community Outreach TEAMs. These TEAM Members focus the
Credit Union’s efforts on investing in Alabama ONE’s communities and its Members by providing
financial education and activities to schools, groups and community partners. This TEAM’s goal is to lead
Alabama ONE’s efforts in their community investment efforts and support local organizations, events
and groups in the communities that it serves.
“Alabama ONE is excited to bring the Alabama ONE Resource Center to Alberta, and surrounding
communities. The resource center gives our TEAM the opportunity to serve the Alberta Community by
focusing on Financial Wellness, which is ONE of the five pillars of our organization,” said Jacquie
Johnson, Director of Financial Wellness & Outreach.
Martin Houston, the Sr. Director of the Growth TEAM, said, “We are excited to be a part of the
revitalization of the Alberta community. We are looking forward to serving our existing and new
Members, in Alberta, Holt, Cottondale and the surrounding communities.”
Kip Tyner, President of the Tuscaloosa City Council and representative for District 5, including Alberta,
has been an advocate for Alabama ONE’s involvement in this branch. He said, “I could not be more
excited than to welcome Alabama ONE to the Alberta area – and encourage all my constituents to take
advantage of what this exceptional financial institution offers! WE HIT THE JACKPOT! And we look
forward to showing our new community partner our appreciation and support!”
Alabama ONE continues to grow and expand its presence across the state this year, with the acquisition
of First Bank of Linden in Linden, Alabama in May; the opening of a branch in the Lake View community
in September; this branch in Alberta; and another new branch coming soon to Centre, Alabama in
November.
