ASSOCIATED CREDIT UNION CELEBRATED YOUTH MONTH WITH GEORGIA’S BROCK BOWERS AND MALAKI STARKS

(Peachtree Corners, Ga., May 23, 2023) – Associated Credit Union celebrated Credit Union Youth Month with a fun contest involving Georgia tight end, Brock Bowers, and Georgia defensive back Malaki Starks. The month-long contest, aimed to promote financial literacy among youth and encourage saving habits through Associated Credit Union’s Safari Club savings account.

As part of the festivities, children were invited to color pages of Brock and Malaki for a chance to win a signed football and a monetary deposit into their Safari Club savings account. In addition to the coloring contest, parents were encouraged to open a high-dividend, Safari Club Savings account for their children, specifically designed for children under the age of 15. The coloring contest was a huge success, with many young fans participating in the event.

“We were thrilled to have Brock Bowers and Malaki Starks join us for Youth Month,” said Tom Maiellaro, Vice President of Marketing. “We knew that Brock and Malaki share the same commitment and values to support the youth in our communities. It was a no-brainer to ask them to support us in our goal of expanding financial literacy amongst the youth.”

The contest concluded on April 30, 2023, and four children were selected by Brock Bowers and Malaki Starks based on their coloring pages to win a signed football and a monetary deposit into their Safari Club savings account. Associated Credit Union believes in promoting financial literacy from a young age, and Credit Union Youth Month is an excellent way to encourage children to start saving for their future. By partnering with popular college football stars like Brock Bowers and Malaki Starks, Associated Credit Union hopes to make learning about financial literacy fun and exciting for children.

Karen Murray, Assistant Vice President of Member Experience stated, “Educating our youth early is essential to setting the foundation for a healthy financial future. We are elated that our financial safari contest with Brock and Malaki can help get the conversation started.”
