Georgia United hosts annual February food drive

Georgia United Credit Union needs your help collecting food for those in need.

The credit union is hosting its sixth-annual food drive throughout the month of February. People are invited to drop of non-perishable food items — including peanut butter, canned foods, fruit juice, boxed pasta and rice — at any of Georgia United’s 19 branch locations.

“Georgia United is committed to serving our communities,” said Georgia United Director of Business and Community Development Kim Wall in a press release. “We understand that many food pantries run low after the holiday season. We created this program to run in February to help restock those empty shelves.”

Donations at the different branches will benefit pantries within the branches’ local communities.

Georgia United has collected more than 250,000 cans since they began the drive six years ago, according to the release.

“We are grateful for all the support we get from our members to support those less fortunate in our community,” Wall said.
