Warner Robins, GA – Robins Financial Credit Union recently donated $5,000 to the Bleckley County Fire Department for the purchase of training equipment for lifesaving classes taught by the volunteer firefighters.
“One of the ways we live out our mission to be Member Focused, Financial Partners, Community Proud is by supporting initiatives that promote health and safety within our communities,” said Hillary Bobbitt, Marketing Programs Coordinator at Robins Financial Credit Union. “We are honored to partner with the Bleckley County Fire Department to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills they need to respond effectively in emergency situations.”
The firefighters teach CPR, First Aid, and Stop the Bleed classes to schools, nursing home facilities, as well as county, city and church employees. The department currently borrows teaching materials such as CPR mannequins, training AED’s and class presentation courses from another department. With this donation, the firefighters can better serve the community by having their own materials and not relying on another department’s schedule and availability.
“Bleckley County Fire Department would like to thank Robins Financial for their donation used to purchase the training supplies and materials that helps us train our department and community in CPR, Stop the Bleed, and First Aid,” said Michael Francis, Training Chief with Bleckley County Fire Department. “These live-saving skills allow first responders and other individuals to recognize, perform, and act, helping them save lives when seconds to minutes count.”
