Shelby Grantham appointed as Senior Director of Operations
Tuscaloosa, AL: Alabama ONE announced Shelby Grantham has been appointed as Senior Director of Operations, reporting to CEO, Bill Wells. In her prior role, Grantham served as the credit union’s Controller leading the daily operations of Alabama ONE’s Accounting TEAM, while monitoring the credit union’s financials and reporting to the Board of Directors and membership. Grantham was hired at Alabama ONE in 2015 bringing a wealth of knowledge from prior experience at larger financial institutions and from her time spent in the manufacturing industry. Grantham is a key member of Alabama ONE’s Leadership Team. Her vast experience, ability to adjust to an everchanging environment, and commitment to train and grow the operations of Alabama ONE’s accounting team helps prepare Alabama ONE for further growth and expansion. “I am so excited for Shelby taking on this new role for us. As we have become a statewide franchise and expanded our branch network, we need to continue to ensure our Members receive the best, most consistent services. Shelby has already provided the cornerstone of a strong operations framework which will only get stronger with her focus on how we delivery our products and services to our Members,” says Wells.
Grantham said, “I have enjoyed working in small institutions where I’ve worn multiple hats. It has given me an insight and appreciation of the work of multiple areas and has translated well at larger institutions where higher volumes gave me more options to simplify transactions for the people I worked for on a day-to-day basis. I am grateful for the opportunity and look forward to the daily challenges of helping Alabama ONE run smoothly with an awesome TEAM by my side as we take on opportunities to make our credit union better for our members.”
Matt Turner to oversee Accounting Operations
Tuscaloosa, AL: Alabama ONE reported Matt Turner will oversee the Accounting Operations, upon Shelby Grantham’s transfer to Senior Director of Operations. Beginning at Alabama ONE in 2018, Turner has worked closely with the Accounting TEAM, while directing the credit union’s treasury and strategic analysis department. Turner currently handles the regulatory and financial reporting, strategic planning, and budgeting for the credit union. He also oversees the credit union’s Card Services Department, ensuring member satisfaction for the credit union’s debit and credit card programs. “During Matt’s time at Alabama ONE, he has already brought a wealth of experience to Alabama ONE and has been instrumental in outlining our financial goals and strategies through our planning process. Shelby is transitioning a great TEAM to Matt who will continue to provide in-depth guidance, reporting and oversight of our financial condition to our Members and our Volunteers on the Alabama ONE Board and Supervisory Committee,” says Wells.
Prior to joining Alabama ONE, Turner obtained his CPA in 2008 and served over ten years in public accounting. Matt is a key member of Alabama ONE’s Leadership Team. Turner says, “his prior work with Alabama ONE’s Accounting team has been a great experience and he is looking forward to continuing working with the team as they expand their operations and grow the credit union into other areas.”
