The Associated Credit Union Foundation was able to donate more than 2,000 school supplies to various charities in the metro Atlanta area, just in time for a new school year.
The Foundation organized the Back-to-School Drive in June and July, collecting donations at their 24 branch locations. Members and employees dropped off donations ranging from stuffed backpacks, to graphing calculators, to notebooks. Supplies came in by the box load.
Additionally, at the main office location, several departments of Associated Credit Union organized internal donations among employees to grow the number of supplies the students would receive.
“We were so impressed by the members’ and employees’ dedication to the charities we support at ACU,” said Rachael Jernigan, the event’s organizer. “The amount of supplies that were donated to help these children start the year off right was incredible to see.”
Four charitable organizations received generous donations of school supplies as a result of the drive. These charities include: Quinn House Ministry in Lawrenceville, Wilderness Works and Atlanta Leadreship Club in Atlanta, and Child Enrichment, Inc. in Augusta.
