Members of Augusta VAH Federal Credit Union have approved a proposal to merge with SRP Federal Credit Union, according to a Credit Union Journal article.
Augusta VAH FCU members reportedly passed the resolution at a special meeting on Jan. 23. The merger has already received regulatory approval from the National Credit Union Administration.
The combined credit union will have about $1 billion in assets and 20 branches across South Carolina and Georgia.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to merge into a local credit union that cares about this community and understands the needs of our membership,” said Phyllis Cochran, president and CEO of Augusta VAH FCU.
