The Cherokee County School Board recently approved a partnership with LGE Community Credit Union that will “formalize the organization’s financial sponsorship of several special CCSD events for students,” according to a school board meeting summary.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that LGE Community Credit Union will provide up to $5,000 to sponsor a scholar recognition banquet and ceremony and will award a one-time $5,000 scholarship to a graduating senior. LGE also plans to sponsor a December staff breakfast, provide financial literacy training, offer “We Love Educators” incentives totaling $250, support at least one school in each of the Canton and woostaock branch areas through a Partners in Education agreement, and participate in events and programs such as career days and job fairs.

The agreement will run through Aug. 16, 2019, and will automatically renew for additional terms of up to five years, according to the AJC.
