Georgia United Credit Union announces college scholarship contest

Georgia United Credit union is now accepting applications for its 25th Annual High School Competition, which offers college scholarships to high school seniors planning to attend college or a technical school during the 2019-2020 school year.

Students planning to enter will need to showcase their creativity through a video submission answering the following question:

Georgia United was founded on the principles of supporting the community through education. How are you going to use your education to help your community?

Additional consideration will be given to academic achievement, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community.

The Vernon E. Carne Scholarship for $10,000

The Geraldine Tilson Scholarship for $7,500

The Polly Hinde Scholarship for $5,000

The Dorothy Dusenberry Pirkle Scholarship for $5,000

Program requirements and online application are found at gucu.org/scholarships. Entries will be accepted through Feb. 28. Recipients will be announced in April.
