Georgia United Credit Union raises $5K for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta

Georgia United Credit Union recently presented a $5,000 check to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

This donation was made possible through the credit union’s Swipe4CHOA event, where $0.10 of every debit card transaction made on Oct. 17 — up to $5,000 — was donated to CHOA.

“Georgia United has been a longstanding supporter of the healthcare initiatives at Children’s, and we are thrilled to receive this donation which will help the children and families facing an unexpected medical crisis,” said Nancy Koenig, program coordinator at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Swipe4CHOA was a special one-day event held on Oct. 17 in celebration of the 71st anniversary of International Credit Union Day.

“Georgia United is committed to improving the lives of the members, team members and the communities we serve,” stated Chief Marketing Officer Aaron Chestnut. “Our Swipe4CHOA event gave members and team members a way to impact our community in a positive way, by simply doing something as easy as using their Georgia United debit card. We are honored to offer programs, big and small, that showcase all the wonderful things credit unions can do to improve people’s lives.”
