n Feb. 15, according to a Rockdale Newton Citizen article. The dinner, which has been in the works since November, will benefit Rockdale Emergency Relief, a group that coordinates with other non-profits “to build a community where neighbors in need can find efficient and effective resources, both help and hope,” according to the group’s website.
Michael Franklin, the interim executive director of Rockdale Emergency Relief, said he was thankful for donations from community partners like Georgia United.
“Well, the funds come in. They help us with a variety of things we have,” Franklin said in the Citizen article. “We have assistance for families and individuals in need for demonstrated financial assistance, or assistance with utilities. Some of the funds will go to supporting the bank we have.”
The Empty Bowls Dinner will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. and will cost $5 per adult and $3 per child.
