Mid-Florida Credit Union donates $5K to Polk County’s Teacher of the Year

Mid-Florida Credit Union recently gave $5,000 in reward money to Polk County Public Schools’ Teacher of the Year.

Winter Haven High SChool math teacher Vincent Miller won this year’s award. Miller takes his role as a teacher and a mentor seriously. According to an article in The Ledger, Miller also coaches girls’ basketball, gives after-school tutoring lessons, hosts a back-to-school supplies give away, sponsors both the Key and Culture clubs and maintains a closet of clothes and shoes for needy children.

“He does all of this without being boastful or requiring anything in return,” Polk County Public Schools Superintendent Jacqueline Byrd told The Ledger.
