MidSouth Community Federal Credit Union will soon participate in the first Day of Action for Central Georgia.
Day of Action is a worldwide United Way event, typically in June, where tens of thousands of volunteers and advocates combine to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in every community, according to a Middle Georgia CEO article.
The first Day of Action for Central Georgia will be held on June 29 and will feature hundreds of volunteers participating in multiple volunteer opportunities in Pleasant Hill, including:
- community clean-up
- food box giveaway
- kids’ field day
- comunity baby shower and health fair
- smoke alarm and light bulb installation
- diaper and sports/bike equipment giveaways
- And more
“Day of Action is an invitation for people and organizations in the community to LIVE UNITED and take action to address a variety of challenges,” said George McCanless, president and CEO of United Way of Central Georgia. “It is a day that we ask the community to help us put our mission into action by volunteering to improve the building blocks for a good quality life — education, financial stability and health. When we started organizing the Day of Action a few months ago, community partners immediately jumped on board.”
