MPS Credit Union recently celebrated being awarded the prestigious national Juntos Avanzamos designation by Inclusiv. The Juntos Avanzamos designation is awarded to credit unions that are committed to serving Hispanic and immigrant communities by providing education and services that improve financial well-being.
In recognition of the honor, community members, business partners, MPS Credit Union employees, Inclusiv executives, and local dignitaries gathered at the credit union for a proclamation ceremony and celebration catered by MPS Credit Union Hispanic Business Partner, The Healthy Gourmet, and entertainment was provided by Jahinero Music.
Opening remarks were delivered by MPS Credit Union President and CEO Jace B Reyes and by Vice President of Marketing Jennifer Gerson, both of whom accepted the Juntos Avanzamos flag along with Michele Paramore, vice president of compliance & HR and Inclusiv representative Rene Vargas Martinez.
Reyes said, “Our commitment as a CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution) and Low Income designated credit union is to serve the underserved in our communities. The diversity of our community is one of our greatest assets and the Juntos Avanzamos designation signifies our commitment to meeting the needs of everyone in our community.”
Gerson added, “As we celebrate our 90th anniversary this year we are honored that our commitment to the Hispanic and immigrant community has been recognized by Inclusiv and the Juntos Avanzamos designation, it makes the celebration even more special. This accreditation is important in our effort to continue to expand and serve the underserved.”
