The Habersham Community Theatre in Clarkesville will receive $1,000 per year through 2022 thanks to Peach State Federal Credit Union.
The donations from Peach State will begin this year.
The Habersham Community Theatre is located in the historic Habersham Theater, built as a movie theater in 1937. Now, the theater offers dramas, musicals, children’s productions art exhibits and more. Bob Warren, vice president of marketing and a board member for the theater, said Habersham Community Theatre can continue to offer a full calendar of productions and events thanks to donations like those from Peach State.
“On behalf of the HCT board, we are so appreciative of Peach State Federal Credit Union for their support of our mission to bring live theater to our community,” Warren said. “Without local business partners like them, we could not do what we do. We are excited that they have chosen to be our Show Sponsor for our first show of the year, Little Women.”
The Habersham Theater kicked off their 2018-2019 season with Little Women on Sept. 21. Peach State President/CEO Marshall Boutwell said the credit union is happy to help the local theater through this season and many more to come.
“Peach State is focused on making a positive impact in the communities that we serve, which includes supporting the arts,” Boutwell said. “We believe that making theater and other arts accessible to our member-owners and the surrounding community elevates the community as a whole.”
