Tropical Financial Credit Union recently rolled out the Mastercard Elite 3X Rewards Card, featuring a fixed rate and triple the number of points users can use on each purchase — no matter where it is used.
Members will earn three points for every dollar spent, according to a CUInsight article. For example, if someone charges $75 for a dinner out or at the dry cleaner, he or she would automatically earn 225 points. Once those points add up to a certain level, they can be redeemed for travel, merchandise or even quicker cash back.
The card has no annual fee, no balance transfer fee and a fixed Annual Percentage Rate of 17.99%. Once the rate is established, it remains locked in while the account remains active.
“A fixed-interest rate provides a nice safeguard and could potentially save members a lot of money,” Tropical Financial President and CEO Richard Helber told CUInsight. “When you combine that feature with the power of three-times rewards, we are helping our members improve their financial well-being, which is the credit union’s primary mission.”
