All In Credit Union’s ‘Bee the Boss’ program teaches entrepreneurial skills

All In Credit Union recently partnered with the Wiregrass Boys and Girls Club in Dothan, Ala. to educate students about business principles that provide the foundation for running a business through its award-winning Bee the Boss program.

The program is designed to teach elementary and middle school students about being entrepreneurs and how they can become their own bosses, according to a CUSocialGood article. At the beginning of the program, students are given a “loan” from the credit union to purchase a Boys and Girls Club logo item that they can sell to make money. Students not only learn the basics of the loan process, but also how to write a business plan, prepare a budget and marketing plan and calculate interest.

When the Wiregrass Boys and Girls Club members completed the program, the students gave the $500 in proceeds back to their organization.

“We’re proud to partner with the Wiregrass Boys and Girls Club for our Bee the Boss Program,” said Kathy Scarbrough, All In Credit Union’s vice president of marketing. “These students worked hard over the course of several months and their success exemplifies their dedication and determination.”
