CORE Credit Union collects school supplies for local children in need

CORE Credit Union recently became one of a handful of local organizations collecting school supplies for children in need in Bulloch County.

The credit union hosted a donation box, which collected supplies on behalf of Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch County and United Way of Southeast Georgia. Carey Melton, executive director for the United Way of Southeast Georgia, told WSAV that she hopes these school supplies will lessen the stress burden on needy children as they head into a new school year.

“Not having the school supplies and not being prepared can bring on insecurity, low self-esteem and lead to failure,” Melton said. “If we all work together as a community and work on getting these back-to-school supplies, then we know we can give a chance to all Bulloch County kids to succeed.”

The drive will end July 26.
