An outstanding media specialist in the Cherokee County School District received a plaque, a cake and an Amazon Kindle — all courtesy of Credit Union of Georgia.
Indian Knoll Elementary School Media Specialist Jennifer Lewis received the prizes after she was named Media Specialist of the Year for Cherokee County schools. She’ll go on to represent the district in the state-wide competition.
“We have such an amazing group of hard-working media specialists,” Lewis told the Canton Patch. “I’m honored to represent them. The kids are the best part of my job, and I love helping them find books that they enjoy reading, and I love teaching them things about new technology that they didn’t know. I love the combination of literature and technology.”
