Delta Community Credit Union’s Ryan Behrens led classes at Cobb’s Rising Professionals Summit on Thursday.
Cobb County School’s Career, Technology and Agricultural Education department offers the Summit to high school juniors and seniors enrolled in its Work-Based Learning Program, according to a Marietta Daily Journal article.
Behrens has taught classes at the Summit for the past four years.
“These kids are right and motivated as apprentices,” he said to the Marietta Daily Post. “And they are going to be great full-time employees when they enter the workforce as adults.”
Delta Community CU also offers part-time jobs to students involved in work-based learning programs through its Our High School Apprentice Program. Student Jordan Kornegay works as a teller through the program at Delta.
“Over the past year, I received professional training, a part-time job and a paycheck,” Kornegay said. “After nearly a year of on-the-job experience, this summit gives us a whole day to focus on other skills I’ll need after graduation.”
