Georgia’s Own Credit Union donates $8.5K to charity working for sick, injured children

Georgia’s Own Credit Union recently donated $8,500 to Miracle at Kennesaw State, which will use the money toward its fundraiser benefiting childhood cancer research, according to an article in the KSU Sentinel.

The donation was part of Georgia’s Own Credit Union’s “85 Acts of Kindness” to celebrate its 85th anniversary in 2019. Georgia’s Own’s final act was to pledge a donation to a local nonprofit charity.

Miracle at KSU’s annual fundraiser has earned about $340,000 so far, which will be donated to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Baylee Mitchell, the executive director for Miracle at KSU, described the gift from Georgia’s Own as a “blessing.”

“I’m so glad for the credit union’s support,” he told the KSU Sentinel.
