Georgia’s Own Credit Union enters year 2 of providing free Wi-Fi at Atlanta park

For the second year in a row, Georgia’s Own Credit Union has committed to providing free Wi-Fi at Atlanta’s  Woodruff Park.

When the program began in October 2018, about 376 unique users logged on for 736 total sessions, according to a City Biz List article.  Now, just over two years later, approximately 1,000 users log onto the free Wi-Fi each month.

The Wi-Fi acts as a convenience for the countless members of Atlanta’s business community who frequent the park — but it also serves a humanitarian purpose. Woodruff Park has long attracted a significant population of homeless people. The partnership encourages and makes it easier for these people to search for jobs or other opportunities to better their situations using computers borrowed from Woodruff Park Library.
