GeoVista awards $3K in scholarships

GeoVista Credit Union recently awarded three $1,000 scholarships to deserving local students. 

GEoVista awards three scholarships each year in honor and membery of Thomas A McCorkle, Walter “Jack” Jenkins and Eddy E. Rogers. Applicants were asked to write a 250-word essay and were also evaluated by their GPA, test scores, honors received and extracurricular involvement in school and the community. 

The year, scholarship winners included:

• Mykala C. Jackson from Long County High School in Ludowici who won the Thomas A. McCorkle Scholarship
• Britton C. Waters from Pinewood Christian Academy in Bellville who won the Eddy E. Rogers Scholarship
• Heather L. Beers from the Bradwell Institute in Hinesville who won the Walter J. Jenkinson Scholarship
