Kids showing up to the annual Evans on Ice event at Evans Towne Park in Evans, Ga. will be able to enjoy a free train ride, thanks to Health Center Credit Union.
Evans on includes an expansive outdoor ice-skating rink, ice-skating lessons, private parties, s’mores and, of course, train rides, according to a Fox 54 News article.
Jennifer Leisey, marketing and program support coordinator at Health Center Credit Union, told Fox 54 News that the credit union uses the train rides as an opportunity to teach financial literacy to local kids.
“It’s just getting people talking about it, because I think money is one of the things that is still kind of taboo,” she said. “You know. you don’t ask people what they make, you don’t ask people how they do their spending — but if you just kind of start that conversation and start people thinking about it, it becomes less taboo.”
