McCoy Federal supports Central Florida Virtual Walk Like MADD

On August 29, McCoy Federal Credit Union and partners of 27 Community Connection sponsored Central Florida Virtual Walk

Like MADD, a key fundraiser for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). The event raised nearly $50,000 towards MADD’s mission of “No More Victims.”

Every 51 minutes drunk driving causes a fatality and is the number one cause of death on our roadways. Nationally, over 10,000 preventable deaths occur each year costing $44 billion in damages. Since MADD’s inception in 1980: more than 370,000 lives were saved; over 840,000 survivors were nurtured; critical legislations imposing penalties and interlock systems for offenders was passed; and aggressive initiatives were implemented to educate teens.

McCoy Federal Credit Union embodies the Credit Union charter of “People Helping People” through sponsorships to help those in need and dedicated service to their Members. Beginning in 1954, McCoy Federal has grown to 13 branches assisting over 70,000 Members to achieve their financial goals and dreams.
