Peach State Federal Credit Union recently committed to donating a combined $5,000 to two Northeast Georgia libraries over the next five years.
“Peach State’s commitment to education and to our community leads us to many opportunities that support learning,” said Peach State President and CEO Marshall Boutwell. “This contribution to these local libraries is a natural extension of that commitment. We’re proud to support them and the work they do for our community.”
Both the Cornelia and Clarkesville library branches will receive $500 per year through 2022 from Peach State, beginning this year. Both are branches of the NortheastGeorgia Regional Library system, headquartered in Clarkesville.
“These donations are an important contribution to fostering literacy in our community,” said Clarkesville Library Branch Manager, Wendy Gera.
Cornelia Library Branch Manager Annabelle Wiley said the money would allow that branch to provide more resources to its guests moving forward.
“We are so grateful for Peach State’s generosity,” she said.
