Peach State Federal Credit Union recently announced that it will continue supporting an event that provides thousands of dollars in scholarships to Oconee County students.
Peach State made the announcement at the latest Oconeefest scholarship fundraiser Oct. 18 at the University of North Georgia’s Oconee campus. The event raised about $15,700 in scholarships for Oconee County students attending any UNG campus.
Oconeefest has been raising scholarship money for several years now — and Peach State has been supporting the event just as long.
“We’ve been here since the beginning,” said Ryan Hawk, senior vice president of business development at Peach State Federal Credit Union. “It’s great to see what it’s grown into.”
At this year’s Oconeefest, Hawk announced that the credit union would continue to sponsor the scholarship fundraiser through 2020.
Georgia United Credit Union also acted as a presented sponsor at this year’s Oconeefest.
