Platinum Federal Credit Union recently awarded more than 40 scholarships to members enrolled in higher education.
Originally, PFCU promised to award several $2,500 scholarships through it’s program — enough to total more than $60,000. But the credit union smashed that goal, distributing 42 scholarships for a total of $105,000.
“We have several members and community organizations that contribute toward the scholarship program to increase the total contributions,” Platinum Federal credit Union Chief Executive Officer Kabir Laiwalla said.
PFCU sifted through applicants from 14 states to choose its winners from seven states.
