SRP Federal Credit Union understands how challenging managing personal finances can be, so we are providing an additional benefit for our members through one-on-one financial counseling services. SRP is now offering two Certified Financial Counselors to help members find solutions to their money issues and take control of their finances.
Each counselor has completed extensive training and have received the CUNA FiCEP Financial Counselor II designation. They will be able to assist members by helping them understand financial principles, learn money management, create financial goals and create strategies to reach them, and so much more. By giving members one-on-one assistance, they are given the opportunity to improve their lives and achieve success through financial counseling and education.
The first of our Financial Counselors is located at the SRP Federal Credit Union at 1267 Augusta West Parkway in Augusta, Ga. Ms. Cathy Davis has been with the SRP since 2013. During her tenure, she has had an upward trajectory, starting as a Teller, then to Lead Teller, Front Line Service Supervisor, Member Service Representative II and III, to Contact Center Supervisor.
Ms. Davis earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Vorhees College. Honors at SRP include graduating from SRP’s Leadership Class and being named Employee of the Month for three consecutive months in her branch.
The second of our Financial Counselors, Ms. Stephaun Watson, is located at the SRP Federal Credit Union at 1325 Laurens Street, Aiken, SC. Ms. Watson has been in the financial services industry for over twenty years. She began her career at SRP Federal Credit Union in 1999 as a Teller, moving forward into Lead Teller, and Member Services Representative I and II positions.
Ms. Watson is a graduate of Aiken Technical College. She has also been recognized as Employee of the Month at her branch while at SRP.
Each counselor has been exemplary in their service to our members and are excited to continue in their new roles. “I want to give my members hope to rebuild their financial lives,” says Ms. Watson. “Whether it is rebuilding their credit or helping them qualify for their first home purchase.”
Ms. Davis agrees, commenting “A career in financial counseling is extremely rewarding. Helping people to change their attitude, behaviors, and perceptions regarding money, and achieve their financial goals offers tremendous satisfaction.”
SRP Federal Credit Union is pleased to add this service to further help our members navigate through any money issues or questions that arise in their lives. It’s all part of the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.” We invite SRP members to stop by either the Georgia or South Carolina branch where the counselors are located to take advantage of this benefit!
