Credit union membership reflects ownership. When you join a credit union, you are a member for life. Credit unions are member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperatives that exist solely for the benefit of the member. Peach State Federal Credit Union was recently able to make a much-needed donation to its local Salvation Army.
Hazel Barrett, volunteer coordinator for the Salvation Army of Gwinnett, poses with Deborah Fancher, who works in business development at Peach State Federal Credit Union.

Peach State Federal Credit Union will donate a nickel toward the community with each purchase made on its newly launched debit cards.
Peach State Federal Credit Union invests in the communities in its service areas in numerous ways each year, including through its annual scholarship program, charitable contributions and support of the arts. In fact, the credit union donated more than $477,000 in 2018 alone.

Delta Community Credit Union recently named Jill Dent the new manager of its Johnson Ferry Road Branch, according to a Marietta Daily Journal article.
Dent was selected to lead the branch last month, after former manager Eddie Johnson was promoted to a supervisory position for several Delta Community locations in Cobb and North Fulton.

Georgia United Credit Union, in partnership with Iron Mountain, recently offered free community shred events at select branches, according to a CUToday article.
In total, the credit union shredded 169,695 pounds of personal documents for a total of 1,620 residents. This year's program will save 1,442 trees and 593,9333 gallons of water in paper manufacturing by using the recycled fibers from the events.

Five Georgia credit unions were recently named best in the state by Forbes Magazine.
For the second consecutive year, Forbes has partnered with market research firm Statista to survey more than 25,0000 customers in the U.S. about their current and former relationships with financial institutions.
Credit unions were scored on overall recommendations and satisfaction, as well as on trust, terms and conditions, branch services, digital services and financial advice. Overall scores ranged from 57.2 to 96.2. Out of 5,000 credit unions in the United States, 149 qualified to be part of Forbes’ list.
