Both DOCO Credit Union and Southeastern Credit Union have signed on as corporate partners for The Cancer Coalition of South Georgia’s fifth-annual Night for Hope fundraising gala.
The Cancer Coalition puts on the event each year to benefit cancer patients in south Georgia, according to an article in the Albany Herald. Money will be designated to continuing the coalition’s health navigation and cancer screenings, education, community research and support for both the patients and survivors.
Last year’s event raised $26,000, according to the Herald.
This year’s event will be held Feb. 24 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Albany, beginning with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. Dinner will follow at 7 p.m. The celebration will also include live and silent auctions as well as live musical entertainment. This year’s guest of honor will be David “Butch” Mosely, a former Dougherty County School System superintendent who fought a long battle with bladder cancer.
Tickets for the gala are $100 each and will not be sold at the door.
