East Laurens Elementary School recently opened its media center doors to its 600 students after receiving a “mini-crash” from Georgia United Foundation’s sixth annual School Crashers program.
Out of more than 300 entries submitted across the state, East Laurens Elementary was selected to receive a media center makeover that included new carpet, fresh paint and fun, flexible furniture including whiteboard tables. The “mini-crash” grant totaled more than $22,000.
It was a pleasure working alongside Principal Kelly Dean, the faculty and the staff to provide a refreshed and inspiring learning space for the students,” said Georgia United Credit Union Business Development Officer Ken Chrzanowski. “The media center is now a bright and happy place for students to spend time.”
