A deserving AP history teacher’s classroom received a $319 donation thanks to an award program funded in part by North Alabama Educators Credit Union.
Chris Murdock, an AP history teacher and basketball coach at Fayetteville High School, is the first winner of Tools for Teacher this year, according to a WHNT News article. This collaboration between the news station, North Alabama Educators and Yellowhammer Roofing awards public school teachers who go above and beyond teaching grades K-12.
Gabby Flynt, one of Murdock’s students wrote in to the TV station to nominate her teacher.
“For a student to think of me like that and to put me up for an award is pretty cool,” Murdock told the station.
