Ozark, Ala. (September 7, 2021) All In Credit Union partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Alabama to provide the Bee the Boss Program. This program teaches business principles and how to be their own boss to elementary and middle school students.
During the course, students were given a “loan” from the Credit Union to purchase a Boys and Girls Club logo item that they could sell to make money. They learned how to write a business plan, complete a loan application, calculate interest, prepare a budget and marketing plan and sell their product. At the end of the program, students were allowed to use the profits they made for either a group party, make a donation to another non-profit or give the proceeds back to their Boys and Girls Club. Students this year chose to donate $400 to the Mary Hill Family Service Center and $400 to Vivian B. Adams School within their community. With the remaining funds, the students treated themselves to a day at Xtreme Air in Dothan.
“We’re proud to offer this program that provides a hands-on learning experience for the students. They are not only learning business basics, but also understanding the importance of giving back to their communities when they are successful,” said Lisa Hales, All In Senior Vice President of Member Experience.
