LGE Community Foundation helps wipe out Marietta, Cobb school meal debt

Thanks to a $19,000 donation made, in part, by LGE Community Foundation — the nonprofit arm of LGE Community Credit Union — thousands of Marietta and Cobb County students will be able to eat a hot meal.

The donation paid off school meal debt in the two counties, according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution article. That allowed roughly 44,900 low-income students to receive free and reduced-price lunches in their school cafeterias.

LGE Community Foundation was one of three top donors who donated $9,000 to Marietta’s Lunch Angel’s program, according to the article. The Cobb County Police Department and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 13 donated an additional $10,000.
