SRP Federal Credit Union decided to honor our members last week by holding a “Member Appreciation Week’” April 18th through April 23rd. Throughout the week, each of our 21 branches had snack tables for our members every day as well as coloring books for our younger members.
The week culminated with two events. The first event was a family movie night, held on Friday, April 22nd at our Administrative Building on the side lawn. Members were welcome to bring blankets and chairs, and snacks. SRP provided the water, sodas, fresh popcorn, face painting and balloon animals for the children, as well as bouncing balls that lit up the evening sky – all free for those in attendance. The movie of the evening was Encanto, which was well received. This was the inaugural movie event for the Credit Union, and with over 200 members in attendance, more family nights like this will follow.
On Saturday, April 23rd, SRP held our bio-annual Shred Fest as part of Member Appreciation Week from 9:00am until noon. This event is held so our members can bring in any paperwork they wish to have shredded, and we take care of it for them with two large shred trucks; members can see their paperwork disposed of in front of them.
This year we had a record 539 cars go through our lines to dispose of paperwork, with a total a 22,300 pounds of shredded material at the end of the event. So much came in that a third truck had to be called in to our location because the two trucks on site became full. This has never happened in all the years SRP FCU has provided this service.
SRP Federal Credit Union is honored we have been able to have our members support us for over sixty years and have participated in the events we provided as a service to them. We exist solely to serve our members and we thank them for the success of our Member Appreciation Week.
