ORLANDO, FLA. (November 9, 2023) — Suncoast Credit Union, Florida’s largest credit union, celebrated the grand opening of its first branch in Orlando, the S. Semoran Service Center, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, community donation and business takeover on November 7th.
Suncoast leaders, community partners, and members gathered to celebrate the credit union’s milestone 77th branch, the first location in the city of Orlando and second in Central Florida.
“This is an incredibly important market for us,” said Kevin Johnson, President and CEO, Suncoast Credit Union. “As Suncoast continues to expand in Central Florida, our goal is to become an integrated part of the community, and to serve the financial needs of those who live and work here. We believe that money-saving financial products and services should be accessible to all, and we’re here to provide that.”
To further celebrate and demonstrate its commitment to giving back to the community, Suncoast presented a $2,500 donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, which will provide 10,000 meals to those experiencing hunger.
“It’s through generous donations like this from Suncoast Credit Union that enables Second Harvest Food Bank to fulfill our vision of inspiring and engaging our community to end hunger and help our neighbors thrive.” said Daniel Samuels, Director of Philanthropy, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
Directly following the grand opening celebration, Suncoast leaders headed to Mike’s Italian Ice, located in the same plaza of the new branch, and offered free Italian ice from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., to engage with the community and meet its new neighbors.
The S. Semoran Service Center, located at 4530 S Semoran Blvd, is a full-service location equipped with bilingual team members, a modern open floor plan with vibrant interior art in the lobby, and a drive-thru Interactive Teller Machine.
The S. Semoran branch is the credit union’s second location in Central Florida, with a third location set to open in December at 12402 South Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando.
In addition to the new physical locations, Suncoast offers its entire array of products and services, and members will have access to its entire ATM network, including free access at Publix ATMs, select Wawa ATMs and ATMs in the CO-OP network. Additional services include small business assistance, retirement and investment planning, and personal and business insurance.
