Tropical Financials’ Raul Cordero Named a 2022 Credit Union Rock Star

August 22nd, 2022 Lizeth George Lizeth George Credit Union News, Florida 0 comments

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Tropical Financial Credit Union is proud to announce that Raul Cordero is among over 30 credit union professionals and volunteers nationwide named as a 2022 Credit Union Rock Stars by Credit Union Magazine, a publication of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA).  He is the second Tropical Financial employee to earn the honor in the past two years.

The Credit Union Rock Stars program recognizes outstanding professionals and volunteers from a wide range of disciplines who use their unique strengths to advance the missions of their credit unions. The winners were selected for their exceptional creativity, innovation and passion.

Cordero has served as a data architect/engineer at Tropical Financial for the past five years. In that role, he oversees the development of data warehousing, and business intelligence applications and data analytics.

“I want to congratulate Raul for this incredible and much deserved honor,” said Amy McGraw, Vice President of Marketing/Chief Experience Officer. “He is a bright IT professional with a business brain who is passionate about finding ways to leverage technology for the benefit of the credit union and our members.”

“I am very grateful to be recognized as a Credit Union Rock Star,” Cordero said. “It’s a nice feeling to get recognized for something I love doing each and every day.”

Cordero obtained his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Colegio Universitario Francisco de Miranda. In addition, he has over 15 years of experience designing and developing database solutions, and has an extensive background in all phases of the software development life cycle.

“The 2022 class of Rock Stars is diverse in its backgrounds and strengths,” said Michelle Willits, publisher of Credit Union Magazine. “These Credit Union Rock Stars used their unique characteristics to serve their members, communities and co-workers.”

[Raul’s profile will be on a website published by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA)].  He along with other winners will be profiled in a special digital issue of Credit Union Magazine.

In 2021, Tropical Financial Marketing Manager, Kara Yaquinta was named a Credit Union Rock Star for her expertise and leadership in digital marketing.
