A father hoping to buy his family a mini van with help from Delta Community Credit Union got something a little extra this week — a sports car.
“When they drew my name I thought, ‘Wow! Now I have a family car and a sports car,'” said Carl Hutchins Jr. of Powder Springs.
Delta Community Credit Union and its online car-buying service provider, Carvana, awarded Hutchins a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS. Hutchins’ name was automatically entered in the Delta Community-Carvana $20K Car Giveaway sweepstakes in February when he obtained a Delta Community vehicle loan to buy a minivan. After his name was randomly selected in the sweepstakes, Hutchins was given his choice of vehicle from Carvana’s inventory.
“The sweepstakes is one way we promote products and services that our members say are important to them,” said Delta Community CEO Hank Halter. “It’s a good way to publicize the superior value our members receive on loans and other financial products that help them lead healthy financial lives.”
Carvana is an online dealership that sells and finances previously owned vehicles. Customers may pick up their new vehicle from one of the company’s car “vending machines,” or have it delivered to their home or other location. Hutchins took delivery of his Camaro at Delta Community’s Vinings branch.
“I’ve banked with Delta Community Credit Union for the 12 years, so I felt comfortable getting a car loan here,” Hutchins said. “during the process I was told about the sweepstakes, but I never thought I would win. Choosing a vehicle was the hardest part, because Delta Community made everything else easy.”
