Warner Robins, GA — Robins Financial Credit Union is honored to provide a donation to Taylor County Middle/High School for $1,000 to support their 21st Century Viking Pride Robotics team as they head to the state robotics competition.
The robotics team comprised of middle and high school students is still fairly new, having only been in existence for four seasons. Robins Financial recently learned about the team’s journey to compete and some of the obstacles they had faced. The students have held numerous fundraisers in an effort to raise enough money for their team to compete. Robins Financial was able to provide a monetary donation to assist the team with any additional financial hurdles they had to overcome to go to the state competition in Gainesville, GA. Their teacher, Roslyn Howell, is very passionate about her students and their success in robotics. Being a part of this team and gaining knowledge in robotics will open up several opportunities for college scholarships.
“My students are learning a lot, having fun and gaining insight into their passion,” said Roslyn Howell.
In addition to the monetary donation, Robins Financial provided the school with 3 LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime sets to spark interest in future robotics team members.
