Georgia United invites Ga. schools to apply for school makeover

Georgia United Credit Union is inviting Georgia schools to apply for a makeover through the credit union’s fifth-annual School Crashers program.

Accredit public or private elementary, middle and high schools are encouraged to apply to have community “crash” their school with an improvement project funded by Georgia United. Nominations are accepted until April 13.

Anybody can nominate a school by visiting gucu.org/schoolcrashers. Fill out a nomination form and write a short essay about why your school deserves a makeover. Photos that illustrate the area in need of improvement are encouraged. Project requests for structural, plumbing or electrical enhancements will not be considered.

The winner will be announced May 15.

After the announcement, community members, educators, parents and students will have the opportunity to join Georgia United team members as volunteers to make the makeover a reality. Information will be available in the coming weeks.
